Oboe Lessons and Virtual Oboe Lessons
At Larchmont Music Academy, our oboe lessons find the balance between practicality and fun. Our faculty not only teaches their oboe students the foundations of superior technique, such as excellent embouchure and tone, but also guides them to be self-sufficient musicians through an introduction into reed making.
Our private oboe lessons equip our students to be prepared for a variety of occasions. Oboe students at LMA also have the opportunity to learn from each other through interaction and are encouraged to play with their peers in our chamber music and wind ensembles. The myriad of opportunities that open up from learning the oboe include playing in ensembles, such as orchestra, band, chamber groups, and playing solo. Outside school, the skills taught at LMA allow our oboe students to prepare and apply their knowledge to other outlets, such as Westchester All-County, NYSSMA, All-State, and recorded college auditions and applications.
Playing the oboe also helps mold one's character. Aside from preparation for performances, learning the oboe teaches responsibility and time management skills through scheduling private practice times and rehearsals. The constant interaction in rehearsals and performances also helps build a stronger sense of teamwork and communication.
With our diverse outlets and excellent faculty, Larchmont Music Academy is an excellent place for students to learn oboe in Westchester.
