We will make a collage of the winners to be posted outside Carnegie Hall
Soloists - Please send us your favorite headshot tonight or tomorrow.
Carnegie Hall Rehearsals
Soloists only: Please be sure that you have scheduled rehearsals with Steve. If you have not scheduled this, please call as soon as possible.
Soloists and Ensembles: We have a limited number of optional rehearsal times at Carnegie Hall on March 8th at 5:00pm. Please let us know asap if you would like to rehearse in the hall. This is highly recommended for pianists.

Students will be assigned arrival time based on previously scheduled rehearsals.
******I cannot stress enough the need to arrive at Carnegie very, very early. You can always kill time in the city, get an early dinner, a snack, or go for a walk. But there is no way to make up for missing your child's Carnegie experience or worse your child missing it.
Bring your instrument, music, clothes, snack, and water.
String instruments: Be sure to bring extra strings just in case. Reed instruments bring extra reeds.
Arrival time for all students:
~4:30pm if you have scheduled a rehearsal.
~6:30pm if you are not rehearsing.
**All students need to be at Carnegie Hall no later than 6:30pm.
Students will enter through the artist entrance at 161 West 56th Street. Please plan to arrive in NYC very early, traffic can be really bad on weekends. Students should be dressed and ready to perform. Carnegie Hall only allows performers backstage, so there will be a teacher to greet you and escort your child upstairs. Family members will enter on 57th Street at the ticket holder's entrance.
**Students who wish to leave at intermission must let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements.

A note about appropriate attire:

Carnegie Hall, as you all know, is a very prestigious place to perform.
Dress must be formal recital attire:

Girls:
Long dresses (super important so as to avoid wardrobe malfunctions. The stage is above eye level so dresses that are much shorter while sitting are absolutely out....)
David's Bridal, JJ's House, and Azazie have nice options in their Junior Bridesmaid category that fit younger students.
Long Skirts with blouses/nice dressy tops
Dress trousers with blouse
Dress shoes

Boys:

Tuxedo (sometimes the best option for growing boys)

Suit

Dark blazer, dark trousers, dress shirt, tie

Dress shoes

We have included pictures of former Carnegie concerts so you can see the dress code. If you have any questions about attire, pleaseĀ  call and speak with Claudia. Please ensure that you are properly dressed for this very special occasion. Ensembles, please speak to your teachers as you will be coordinating with each other.

Carnegie Hall prohibits photography from the audience. We will have a photographer who has clearance from Carnegie Hall taking special non flash pictures. You will be able to purchase pictures and an audio recording of the concert from the Academy.
